Recreational facilities with swimming pools and aquatic parks are facilities in which combined heat and power systems are particularly effective. Utility costs make up a significant portion of the annual operating budget, and there is generally a large year-round thermal requirement associated with the heating of the pools and domestic hot water.
Clark Engineering was retained by The City of Edmonton to review the economic feasibility of CHP for its recreational facilities and evaluate the pros and cons of different ownership and operating arrangements. Following proof of concept, Clark Engineering was then retained to act as prime consultant for the combined heat and power project during the feasibility study, design, and implementation stages.
Clark Engineering Inc. and Wonderwrench Solutions provide operational monitoring and maintenance services.
