The Jerry Forbes Centre for Community Spirit is an office and warehouse space providing affordable rentals to charitable organizations.

The project was a revitalization of a 93,000 sq. ft. existing facility that hosted a fabric supply company. Consultants were challenged to keep remaining systems and components in place as necessary while ensuring that the most cost-effective, sustainable, and easily maintained new systems and components were installed during the renovation.

Clark Engineering was retained for the project in 2017. They completed a building design that utilised a new variable air volume system, new modulating condensing boilers, and new heat/energy recovery ventilation units. The existing fire suppression system was modified to accommodate the changes.

  • 2@ 400 MBH modulating condensing boilers
  • New custom rooftop air handling unit with modulating gas heating and DX cooling
  • New custom air handling unit with hydronic heat and DX cooling
  • New digital variable air volume boxes
  • New BMS control system

The centre has been in operation since it opened in the summer of 2018.
